True to its mission to provide the commuting public with convenience, the Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) and AF Payments Inc. (AFPI) formally rolled out the Tap2Pay campaign which gives LRT-1 commuters more payment options when purchasing from merchants within the station.
With the campaign’s launch last May 26, LRT-1 passengers in Baclaran, EDSA, Gil Puyat, Carriedo, D. Jose, and Balintawak stations can now look forward to using AFPI’s beep™ cards to buy food, medicines, and phone accessories. beep™ card holders now also have the option to top up load at the participating merchants aside from the designated loading kiosks.
Coming from last December’s successful trial run of the campaign with Master Siomai as the pilot merchant, Tap2Pay now also includes Mister Donut, Yumpanada, Waffle Haus, Turks, Eng Bee Tin, Siomai House, The Generics Pharmacy, Just Squeezed, Potato Corner, and Waffle Time.
This campaign is possible with AFPI’s technology wherein merchants are equipped with portable Standalone Payment and Loading Devices. This allows the reloading of beep™ cards and processing of payment transactions without the need for any integration with a POS system.
